'Spurned' Pido Jarencio may have something to say about UST decision to hire Ayo

Dec 29, 2017
Pido Jarencio is obviously not happy with the UST decision to tap Aldin Ayo.

PIDO Jarencio is obviously not happy that he didn't get the call from alma mater University of Santo Tomas on the vacant Tigers coaching job - and bummed that an 'outsider' got the job instead.

The colorful coach posted a cryptic message on Twitter just days after reports came out that Aldin Ayo has left La Salle after just two seasons in charge to take on the coaching job at UST.

"Ang dami naming magkakapatid na pwede pagkatiwalaan, ang AMA namin kumuha pa ng taga labas! Tsk tsk tsk delicadesa may pakana," Jarencio posted on his official @pidojarencio1 account on Twitter.

Jarencio had been very vocal about his desire to return to a UST job he held for almost a decade - a stint he crowned with a famous victory over Ateneo in the 2006 UAAP finals.

He remains very popular among UST fans and alumni but couldn't quite get the nod of school officials even while pleading to be brought back.

"Ang tagal sumagot, pero manliligaw pa rin ako," he said a day before news about Ayo's appointment came out.
