GOLDWIN Monteverde has been appointed as head coach of University of the East, a school official who refused to be named told SPIN.ph.
Monteverde got the nod of UE's top school officials to replace Derrick Pumaren as head coach of the Red Warriors.
Monteverde brings a solid track record in high school, guiding Chiang Kai Shek College to several championships in different tournaments from NBTC to Fil-Chinese basketball leagues. He also currently coaching the National University Bullpups in UAAP Season 80, taking over the post just last year.
Still, any transfer will happen only after the Bullpups campaign ends as NU remain in title contention after reaching the semifinals with an 11-3 record.
