UNIVERSITY of the East gunner Roi Sumang said he is back to full fitness and looking forward to his rematch with Ateneo's Kiefer Ravena just 10 days after their memorable shootout in a UAAP men's basketball match.

Sumang sat out the game against University of the Philippines due to a sprained ankle but said he will be ready to play when the Red Warriors seek to stretch their win streak to three games in the 4 p.m. grudge match against the Blue Eagles at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“Maglalaro na ako. Gusto ko na nga maglaro (against UP). Siguro sa Wednesday, one hundred percent ako,” said Sumang on Tuesday.

Sumang scored a career-high 30 points against the Blue Eagles last August 10 only to be eclipsed by leading MVP contender Ravena, who hit a season-high 38 points in Ateneo's 95-91 overtime victory.

The UE guard is looking forward to squaring off with Ravena again - and hopes for a different ending this time.

“Sana maging ganun uli ’yung game pero mas better kung mananalo kami,” said Sumang.

Sumang and Ravena are teammates in the Sinag Pilipinas team that bagged the gold medal in the 2013 SEA Games, and have become close since.

“Okay kami,” Sumang said. “Siguro mas naging okay ‘yug pagkakaibigan namin nung nasa Sinag kami.”

Their UAAP rivalry hasn't changed that, the Red Warriors guard said.

“Part of the game naman ‘yun siguro,” he said.

The Blue Eagles share first place with La Salle and Far Eastern University at 6-2 (win-loss), while UE is in a tie for fifth place with University of Santo Tomas at 4-4.

The Red Warriors, however, have won two games after the loss to Ateneo while the Blue Eagles are coming off a loss to La Salle, 88-86, on Sunday.
