AARON Black allayed fears of a lengthy recovery from his foot injury as the young Ateneo star expects to be back in action in UAAP Season 79 after two weeks.
In a brief interview before Ateneo's match against Adamson on Saturday, Black said doctors have not given him the exact nature of the injury but said he could sit out for two weeks.
Black wore a protective boot in his left foot when he showed up for the Saturday game in street clothes but said the pain has subsided.
"All he (doctor) said was I have to wear these boots for two weeks and recover from there," said Black, who was reduced to a spectator in Saturday's 62-61 loss to the Falcons due to a last-gasp jumper by Dawn Ochea.
"It's getting better. I'm walking a little bit better today," he added.
Ateneo felt Black's absence and leaned on Thirdy Ravena and Antonio Asistio instead. The latter proved to be the lone bright spot for the Blue Eagles with 12 points, while Ravena had a measly output of three points in 12 minutes of play.
Black played for only two minutes last Wednesday against Far Eastern University after injuring his left foot. He hobbled on his way out of the Mall of Asia Arena, needing assistance from a teammate. Additional interviews by Jan Ballesteros
