QUIET for most of the game Sean Manganti made his impact when it mattered the most, making the big plays on both ends down the stretch as Adamson extended its winning run.

Manganti took advantage off a missed Papi Sarr layup to push the Falcons ahead with 1.4 seconds left in the game before tapping the ball away from Paul Desiderio on the other end to seal the tough win over University of the Philippines on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The 6-foot-4 forward was so elated after the match that he gave his star big man some ribbing after the match

“I was like ‘what the f…’ Cause he should have had a clear lay-up. He was right there. He blew it. I’m glad I was there to save us. I told him, good pass,” said Manganti after the match.

“I was just in the right place and the right time,” he added.

“That was our game plan the whole game. Just deny Paul. We tried to it. He still got his points but we came out on top,” he continued while he tipping his hat off to his opponent.

“He’s a tough competitor. He knows how to score, he knows how to get the ball even if he’s being denied so I give it up to him.”

Manganti knows the importance of winning this match against UP, after losing to leading contenders La Salle and Ateneo.

Expected to be one of the top dogs entering UAAP Season 80 – Manganti is happy that they’re slowly reaching their potential.

“Yeah definitely (big win). Because we lost to La Salle and Ateneo and those are supposedly two best teams but we feel like we’re up there. It’s a character-builder for us.”
