FORMER PBA player Alvin Teng was just happy that he will see his sons play for the championship in the UAAP Season 76 men’s basketball tournament.

“Wala akong masabi. Masayang-masaya,” said Teng after the game.

Teng’s oldest son Jeric and his University of Santo Tomas team pulled off an upset 76-69 win over top seed National University on Saturday to set up a finals match with De La Salle, where his brother Jeron is one of the biggest stars.

It will be the first UST-De La Salle final since 1999.

Teng, a strong inside operator who earned the moniker ''Robocop' during his PBA career, and son Jeron were at the Mall of Asia Arena to root for Jeric in the Final Four, with father and son wearing yellow shirts to show which side they're rooting for.

This time around, the older Teng won’t be rooting for any team saying members of the family will sit at opposite sides of the arena starting to support both his sons beginning in Game One on Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

“Ako siguro sa La Salle side. Hati kami para walang masabi. Kami naman, nagchi-cheer kami para sa anak namin,” said the former national player, a member of the multi-titled San Miguel teams in the eighties and nineties.

Alvin Teng said that the UST-La Salle final is tough to call as both Jeron and Jeric will definitely give it their all for the championship.

“Mabigat pareho. Maraming beterano ang UST. Anak ko last year na sa UST. Si Jeron, gusto rin mag-champion,” said Teng.
