RICCI Rivero continues to improve on offense, and he is glad to repay the trust of La Salle coach Aldin Ayo.

"Before, parang hinahanap ko talaga 'yung game ko," said Rivero.

"Sabi ni coach, makikita ko kung mag-mamature ka if mag-stick ka sa system and for sure magfi-fit ka, kaya kita kinuha eh."

The 19-year-old guard spearheaded La Salle's attack once again and the Archers edged Adamson for their third straight win and eighth overall in 10 outings.

Rivero had 17 points, four rebounds and an assist.

Since being limited to a few minutes in La Salle’s rout of University of Sto. Tomas in the first round, Rivero's numbers have risen and he has averaged 16.8 points, 2.2 assists, 2.2 steals and a 56.45 percent clip from the field in the last five games.

In five games before that, Rivero averaged 9.6 points, 1.4 assists, and 0.8 steals.

But despite the increase in offensive numbers, the 6-foot-3 Rivero said he is not thinking about his offense too much.

"Every before ng game, practice, before matulog, hindi ko na iniisip talaga kung kailangan kong i-shoot 'yung ganito. Iniisip ko, kailangan maka-create ako para sa teammates ko. Kailangan ma-run ko 'yung play ng maayos para may ma-open," said Rivero.
