RICCI Rivero of La Salle has officially made it to the Mythical Five of the UAAP Season 80.
The league released the list of awardees on Monday, with Rivero joining teammate Ben Mbala of Cameroon, Thirdy Ravena of Ateneo, Alvin Pasaol of University of the East and Jjay Alejandro of National University in the Mythical Selection.
The La Salle sophomore finished eighth in the Most Valuable Player race, and took a spot in the Mythical Five as only one foreign player is allowed to make it to the list.
Finishing ahead of Rivero in the MVP race were Cameroonians import Papi Sarr of Adamson (5th), National University's Senegalese reinforcement Issa Gaye (6th) and Cameroon's Steve Akomo of the University of Sto. Tomas (7th).
Mbala will formally receive his second straight MVP trophy on Wednesday before Game Two of the UAAP finals between La Salle and Ateneo at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
