UNIVERSITY of the Philippines coach Rey Madrid will miss the Maroons’ game against Adamson on Saturday after his two-game ban was upheld by the UAAP Commissioner's Office on Friday.
Madrid was suspended for two games after the controversial ‘point shaving’ allegations he made after the Maroons’ 57-73 loss to University of Santo Tomas last week.
UAAP commissioner Andy Jao upheld the decision following an appeal launched on Wednesday by the school, which felt the two-game ban was "too harsh" since it was only Madrid’s first offense.
Madrid, in his first full season as UP coach, also missed the Maroons' loss to La Salle in mid-week.
