KEEN-EYED fans of the University of the Philippines got quite the surprise, as the Fighting Maroons matched up with modern-day rival La Salle last Sunday.
Rey Remogat was looking different - and moving different.
After rocking long hair with a pony for their first four games, the 24-year-old guard suddenly changed it up with a slightly shorter cut, parted in the middle and still with his usual headband.
And in State U's biggest game of the young season, new-look Remogat turned in his best outing, with 20 points built on 3-of-6 triples and four rebounds in a well-earned win.
Three days later, he followed that up with a 14-point, 6-assist, and 3-of-6 from threes performance in a come-from-behind triumph over Adamson.

Without a doubt, these numbers are an improvement from his per game counts of 10 points and four assists alongside a total of 8-of-27 from deep in UP's 2-2 start to the season.
Happy wife, happy life
Remogat made it clear, though, that his haircut has nothing to do with it.
As he revealed to SPIN.ph, there wasn’t a game-related reason for his early-season makeover. Rather, it was from the recommendation of his fiancee, Krystal Espena.
“'Di ako yung may balak. Actually, yung fiancée ko eh. Parang sinabi niya na gusto niyang mahaba buhok ko. So siyempre, ginusto ko na rin. Gusto niya eh,” he said.
"Kaya nung sinabi naman niyang gusto niyang magpagupit na'ko, yun din yung ginawa ko, yun na rin yung gusto ko."
According to the General Trias-born guard, looks are the least of his concerns, but right at the top of his priority list is making his significant other happy.
“Para sa akin, wala naman akong pakialam sa buhok ko eh. Wala akong pakialam sa mukha ko kung marami akong tigyawat or something. Basta comfortable lang ako at kung saan ako at siya masaya,” he said.
Even if Remogat isn’t the superstitious type, the new do did bring some good fortune, as the Fighting Maroons are now streaking.
