NATIONAL University has added Mohammed Salim to the Bulldogs' players pool after his high school stint with Chiang Kai Shek College in the Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association (MMTLBA).

Salim confirmed that he has committed to play for NU in the UAAP, adding another high school standout to a Bulldogs team that lost several key players including top star Bobby Ray Parks after last season.

Earlier, Rev Diputado of five-time NCAA juniors champion San Beda also made a commitment to suit up for the Bulldogs beginning next season.

Salim was one of the standouts in the recent National Basketball Traning Center (NBTC) National High School Championship as he led the CKSC Blue Dragons to the crown. He was also selected to suit up in the NBTC High School All-Star Game over the weekend.

The 6-foot-3 Salim said he is willing to wait for his turn at NU after being informed about the possibility that he will spend some time with the Bulldogs’ Team B.

“Marami pa kasi akong kailangang i-improve kaya okay lang,” said Salim, 'Meds' to his teammates.

Even though Salim isn’t a big name in the juniors circuit, Edster Sy, organizer of the Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship (PSSBC) where Chiang Kai Shek College also plays, spoke highly of the forward.

“He is a versatile and hardworking forward who knows how to attack in the post, facing the basket and even hit outside shots consistently,” said Sy, also a skills and conditioning coach of Headstart Sports Academy.
