RAYMAR Jose played his role to the fullest on Sunday as Far Eastern University made it to the top of the UAAP Season 78 standings.
Jose finished with a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds to help the Tamaraws pull off a 75-58 win over University of the Philippines.
FEU coach Nash Racela described his big man in an interesting manner, adding Jose was the key in the Tamaraws’ 12-0 run in the fourth period.
“I think the key there was Raymar,” said Racela. “Ginagampanan niya kasi talaga na siya ang pinakamagaling na basurero sa amin. Pulut ng pulot. ‘Yun talaga ang trademark niya.”
Jose shrugged off his performance though as he believes his effort on Sunday has a lot to do with his hardwork in practice.
“Ginagawa ko lang ‘yung part ko. Siguro ‘yung tinatrabaho ko sa practice, eto nagiging result,” said Jose.
Hardworker Jose indeed, does extra work after practice as attested by Racela himself.
“Si Raymar, after practice namin, nag-iisprint pa siya mag-isa. May sarili siyang routine. Habang pagod na ang lahat, ‘yung iba nagpapahinga, lagi siyang may ginagawa na tatakbo mag-isa,” he said of the third year big man.
“Natatakot ako na baka masunog siya. Pero ganun ang pagkagawa sa kanya,” Racela added.
