ANTIPOLO – Pido Jarencio confirmed University of Santo Tomas has spoken to him about the possible return as head coach of the Growling Tigers in the UAAP.

The NorthPort team manager told PBA beat reporters on Saturday he has already talked with UST authorities although he didn’t go into detail on what transpired.
Jarencio also he is also waiting for an announcement from UST on the coaching position.
“Kahit papano nakausap ko. Naka-tsamba usap. Usap pa lang,” said Jarencio following NorthPort’s match against NLEX at the Ynares Center, when asked if he has talked with UST management.
“Siyempre, mga pari mga nagpapatakbo nun. Pari ang kausap natin,” Jarencio said, when asked who he spoke to.
“Antayin na lang natin ang announcement nila. Hindi ko announcement,” said Jarencio.
Jarencio is reportedly being eyed as UST head coach following the resignation of Bal David after just one season with the Growling Tigers.
Under his stewardship, Jarencio won a UAAP crown in his first season in 2006. He coached the Growling Tigers until 2013.
Jarencio hinted that he is interested in the position.
“Sabi nga nila, may tsamba. Baka matsambahan natin,” said Jarencio.
“Depende,” said Jarencio, when asked if he is interested in the position.
When instead asked for a percentage of coming back to UST, Jarencio said: “Tignan mo paano percentage ko sa three-point shot.”
