PIDO Jarencio's pleas have been heard loud and clear.
After laying down the foundation the past three seasons, the outspoken coach has been given a two-year extension as coach of the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers, SPIN.ph has learned from sources.

In effect, Jarencio's extension means the partnership between the Espana-based school and San Miguel Corp. has been renewed as the conglomerate will continue to bankroll the men's basketball team through UAAP Season 90 in 2027.
"Malaki pa rin ang tiwala ng UST sa San Miguel at hindi naman sila napahiya dahil nakita natin paano pa rin nag-compete yung team since nag-take over noong 2023," the source said.
The Growling Tigers were given the option to decide on the partnership by SMC sports director and UST alum Alfrancis Chua, who had said that "nasa sa UST na lang kung gusto pa rin nila kami."

The answer, it turned out, was a resounding yes.
The development lifts the uncertainty hanging over the black-and-gold following a painful Final Four exit at the heads of the University of the Philippines Maroons this past UAAP Season 88.
And to Jarencio's credit, the core was solidified with the arrival of Rookie of the Year Collins Akowe, as well as role players Gelo Crisostomo, Amiel Acido, and Mark Llemit staying put in UST.
Transferees Kristian Porter, Michael Mara, Mur Alao, and Kurt Laput banner the bumper crop of additions set to play for the Growling Tigers next season following the departure of Nic Cabanero and Forthsky Padrigao.
