FORTHSKY Padrigao is set to miss University of Santo Tomas' opening game of the UAAP season against University of the Philippines on Sept. 21.
The Growling Tigers were already informed of the decision of the UAAP board upholding his one-game suspension stemming from his ejection in their UAAP Season 87 Final Four defeat, curiously also against the Fighting Maroons.

Padrigao was called for two unsportsmanlike fouls in that game, the last because of an elbow hit on UP's Quentin Millora-Brown which led to his ejection at the height of a UST comeback with 3:24 to play.
The Growling Tigers will now have to play without their lead point guard for the season opener at Quadricentennial Pavilion.

UST goes into the new season with heightened expectations in the final year for Padrigao and Nic Cabañero, as well as the entry of former UAAP Juniors MVP Collins Akowe for Pido Jarencio's third season at the helm.
