Concern among coaches grow as UAAP basketball schedule yet to be released

    Aug 23, 2016

UAAP Season 79 host University of Santo Tomas said the men’s basketball schedule will be announced soon amid rival teams’ concerns over their preparations for the tournament set to start in two weeks.

Matchups and venues are yet to be set — even for the opener on September 4 — and Far Eastern University athletic director Mark Molina has expressed his concern on Twitter.

SPIN.ph also learned that coaches are already anxious to know their opponents for the opening weekend.

“Don’t get why the UAAP hasn’t released sked. Many of our athletes are from out of town/country and families need to plan ahead to watch them,” wrote Molina.

UAAP secretary treasurer Gilda Camus of host UST said they are already in the process of finalizing the schedule.

“Anytime po ’yan kasi we are still trying to fix the venues and the matches,” said Camus on Tuesday during a media briefing at the UST campus.
