RR GARCIA will miss Far Eastern University’s next game after incurring his second unsportsmanlike foul of the season last Sunday against La Salle, compounding the woes of the reeling Tamaraws.
UAAP commissioner Chito Loyzaga meted the automatic one-game suspension on Garcia after he was called for an unsportsmanlike foul while doing a side-stepping move against La Salle’s Ola Tampus on Sunday.
During the side-step move, Garcia appeared to have thrown an elbow at Tampus, which merited an unsportsmanlike foul with an intention to hurt.
Garcia’s absence comes at a bad time as the Tamaraws will go up against the red-hot University of the East on Sunday in the hope of breaking their slump.
Despite leading the team standings, the Tamaraws (7-2) have lost two straight games after sweeping the first round.
The Tamaraws will be facing a UE squad that are fast closing the gap on the leaders having won their last four games including a come-from-behind victory over University of Santo Tomas last August 15.
The Red Warriors were supposed to play University of the Philippines on Wednesday but the game was postponed due to inclement weather.
