OLIVER De Guzman admitted he was overwhelmed playing late in the game for University of Santo Tomas when the game was still in the balance against University of the Philippines.
The 18-year-old De Guzman is glad to be able to repay the trust given to him by head coach Boy Sablan.
In 11 minutes of action, the former National University Bullpup scored 11 points, including five in the fourth quarter to help UST keep UP winless.
Gusto namin manalo kasi galing kami sa talo,” he added.
De Guzman is also thankful for the guidance of veteran guards Renzo Subido and Jon Sheriff.
“Kahit rookie daw ako, gawin ko ’yung role ko as a point guard. Kahit rookie naman, walang kaba-kaba,” said the Davao City native.
De Guzman said the Tigers were really all out to bounce back after the 38-point loss to La Salle.
“Sobrang sakit. Laki ng lamang sobra,” said De Guzman.
