NATIONAL U did not need long to put its Ateneo setback in the rearview mirror.
The Bulldogs clipped Adamson, 85-66, on Wednesday, with PJ Palacielo and Paul Francisco up front, as NU kept its place in the upper half of the UAAP Season 89 men’s basketball standings at 3-2.
After surrendering control late against the Blue Eagles, the blue-and-gold was steadier when it mattered against the Soaring Falcons.
Palacielo set the pace with 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting and eight assists, with Francisco supplying 17 points and six rebounds.
Mo Diassana, Reinhard Jumamoy, and Tebol Garcia chipped in 12 apiece, giving NU more reliable scoring outlets to complement their lead duo.
“It’s a good response, but medyo subpar pa rin ‘yung performance kasi we gave them 12 three-pointers. We need to address that para at least coming into Saturday’s game, ma-correct namin ‘yung mga sarili namin,” said head coach Jeff Napa.
Adamson, meanwhile, has alternated wins and losses through five games - yet to put together back-to-back victories.
Not even five Soaring Falcons in double-figures could steady their flight. Ray Allen Torres’ 14 points and Matty Erolon’s 12 showed the way, but still absorbed another setback.
