SEAN Chambers will call the shots for Far Eastern University in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament later this year.

The Alaska Aces great will fill the coaching void left by Denok Miranda and will be reunited with another legend of the Uytengsu-owned franchise in Johnny Abarrientos.

FEU made the announcement on Monday, saying "FEU Athletics is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Chambers as head coach of the FEU Tamaraws men’s basketball team.

"After a successful playing career in the PBA, Coach Sean is excited to return to the Philippines, his second home, and brings with him a wealth of experience with a career dedicated to education, coaching, and mentoring the youth."

With Chambers set to take over by Season 87, Miranda won't be leaving his alma mater altogether after being appointed as head of FEU's basketball program , handling the school's junior high school to college teams.

Chambers' head-coaching debut in the Philippines comes with no less than the UAAP's winningest men's basketball team, which last won it all in Season 78 back in 2015.

Last year, the former Alaska resident import joined TNT Tropang Giga as deputy coach to Jojo Lastimosa and Chot Reyes.

"I am profoundly grateful and humbled by the opportunity to return to the Philippines as the head coach of the FEU Tamaraws. It is an honor to collaborate with FEU management and coaching staff, in our collective mission to reignite the winning culture at FEU," said Chambers.

Carrying one of Philippine basketball's most decorated sporting resumés, the six-time PBA champion and 'Mr. 100 Percent' awardee vowed to give it his all in pursuit of honing the sport's future stars from the college ranks and beyond.
