Coach Bo Perasol and his players contend that the team’s camaraderie, teamwork, and discipline play a key role in their mission to reach the finals in the coming seasons.

The team from Diliman ended their Season 80 rally with a 6-8 win-loss record, an improvement from 2016’s 5-9 finish.

Season 79 Mythical Team member Paul Desiderio, Season 80 Rookie of the Year Juan Gomez de Liaño, Nigerian big man Bright Akhuetie, Javi Gomez de Liaño, and Jun Manzo are expected to lead UP’s drive for the Final Four contention this year.

The future of the Fighting Maroons also looks promising, with one-time NBA prospect Kobe Paras committing to the team when he becomes eligible to play in the UAAP in 2019 and Gilas cadet Ricci Rivero expressing his intention to suit up for UP in Season 82.

As the Fighting Maroons enters Season 81, they only have one thing in mind: There’s nowhere to go but up.
