GOLDWIN Monteverde isn't losing sleep over University of the Philippines' failed title retention bid.
The Maroons coach said it should motivate the Fighting Maroons to strive harder in hopes of once again lifting the cup in the next seasons.

"Ganun naman talaga ever since day one. We always talk about nothing is permanent and if may nakuha ka ngayon, hindi siya forever sa yo," he said.
"Pero life goes on and you gotta keep on working. Hindi naman tayo matatapos sa isang achievement."
UP finished as bridesmaids in the UAAP Season 85 men's basketball tournament after a 75-68 Game Three defeat to Ateneo on Monday.
This prevented Monteverde and Co. from claiming a second UAAP title in a calendar year to follow up on their UAAP Season 84 conquest in May.
Monteverde said he told his players to hold their chin up and understand that what matters now is that the league views the Fighting Maroons as legitimate championship contenders.
"For us alam naman namin what is at stake sa situation going Season 85 and inapproach naman namin the best way that we can. Ok naman ang naging season namin, siguro for a short preparation din, kahit papaano yung team really did a good job because umabot kami dito sa Finals," he said.
