FOR four years, Mike Phillips wore the green and white with pride and purpose - and he's committed to wearing it for one more ride in the UAAP.
"There's nothing unclear to me, I'm playing every single game next year with La Salle," he answered when asked about what's next for his young career after the Green Archers' title loss to the University of the Philippines in the deciding Game 3 of the UAAP Season 87 finals.

This early, the La Salle scrapper made the decision to stay and still play - if only to be part of the green-and-white's redemption mission.
"God has led me to La Salle, and from top to bottom, they took care of me. They have taken care of me for four, five years, and I'm going to play my heart out for them," said one half of the Phillips brothers right now in Taft.

Reclaiming the title is part of the motivation, yes, but for Phillips, it's much more than just that. It's all about the community that gave him his purpose for playing.
"The La Salle community made a commitment, and I will reciprocate that," he said.
"All faith. Someone told me you never know who you can inspire, and basketball is just a vessel. I'm a servant of Jesus, he's using me, like every single player, to inspire."
