MATTY Erolon knew all along that he was bound to get a bigger role for Adamson in his fourth year this UAAP Season 88.

What he did not expect, though, was the bigger responsibility he will be entrusted as one of the main offensive options for the Soaring Falcons.

With Royce Mantua opting to turn pro and Renzo Competente suffering a season-ending knee injury, the Dumaguete-born shooter has been thrust into the starting shooting guard spot.

And so far, Erolon has taken full advantage of these opportunities, so much so that he has made a case at being considered the best shooter in the collegiate ranks today.

But for the 6-foot gunner, it’s just him taking the chance and making the most of it, with all the praise being a by-product of his tireless efforts.

Nash squeezes the juice

Erolon, 23, also credited coach Nash Racela for the continued trust being given him from the moment he committed to Adamson until now.

Easily the league’s overachievers last season, the Soaring Falcons have earned a lot of believers this time out that not many will make the mistake of counting them out.

Erolon, however, said that it’s the least of their concerns, as all they’re focused on is to continue putting in the effort to try and prove they belong among the UAAP’s elites.

Hopefully, madala namin yun sa UAAP,” he said.
