MATTHEW Daves has committed to play for the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP.

The Fil-Canadian, who played for Durham Crossover Canada in the NBTC, recently met with Ateneo team patron Manny V. Pangilinan to formally commit to the Blue Eagles. Durham Crossover coach Mike Cruz posted on Facebook a photo of Pangilinan with him and Daves.

The 6-foot-5 Daves played small forward for Central Tech Prep in Toronto.

Daves, 19, was also part of the Hooptown GTA Prep Top 80 and Hoopstown GTA 25 points list in the 2017-2018 season

He also played for Ontario in the Under-15 men’s national championship in 2014.

“Such a force and a specimen,” said Central Tech head coach Kevin Jeffers in his comments about Jeffers for Hooptown GTA. “What impresses me about Matthew is his high IQ and hidden skill set. When Matthew plays in open space, he truly shines and becomes a force. Even though he is known for his power and ability to jump out of the gym, Matthew brings much much more.”
