NATIONAL University’s Matt Salem only had good things to say ahead of what he considered was just a regular game in his first encounter with former team La Salle.
The Bulldogs take on the Green Archers on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, and Salem expects an intense game between two unbeaten teams. But on his part, he will treat it as a normal game, saying he is still friends with the team.
“We are family. I know all those players. There’s nothing to it,” said Salem, when asked about the match against La Salle.
Salem is battling a La Salle squad that has had major changes since he last played for the Green Archers team, even winning the 2013 title with him on the line-up. And the former Archer admitted a tough task is ahead for the Bulldogs due to La Salle’s bigs led by Ben Mbala. Abu Tratter and former NU juniors standout Justine Baltazar.
“We are just going to do what we are going to do. La Salle is a tough team this year. They are all big. It’s going to be hard. But we are going to focus,” Salem said.
