MASON Amos’ first UAAP season for the green-and-white might not be over yet.
The La Salle neophyte, who went down six games into Season 88 with an MCL tear on his right knee, sees a realistic window for him to return to action sooner than later.
Bar any late setbacks, it might just be a matter of weeks before Amos gets going again for the Green Archers.
“I can't give you guys the whole score right now, but it's looking good right now. I heard that my knee's intact, and I'd say that's really good news,” he said.
“I have no timetable yet for when exactly I can return, but hopefully within the next two to four weeks.”

While the 21-year-old big is expecting a swift recovery, one thing he already discarded was a receiving an apology from his injury’s culprit in National U wing Gelo Santiago.
His close peers within the Bulldogs’ camp have reached out to him since the incident, but not Santiago himself.
“No, I'm not expecting an apology. I mean, things happen. It's basketball. I’m not going to dwell on it, and I'm just going to keep moving forward. I'm in high spirits right now. That's what matters,” he said.
“Things happen for a reason. I'm not going to comment further about it. It happened. I wouldn't say it was a freak accident, but things happen, and I just got to move forward.”
UAAP physicality too much?
There’s no questioning that basketball will always be a physical game at any level it is played.

But Amos hopes that the UAAP won’t just crack the whip, but also exhaust all means to safeguardf player health at the same time.
As he put it, “This year, you've seen a lot of it. It's not just our games that we play. It's all over the UAAP, so maybe it's time to address it, I guess.”
“It happens, but there's always a borderline between physicality and playing dirty. There's not much you can do about it in that situation. Once things happen, it happens. You can't go back and change it. There's no going back to the past and changing what already happened.”
