MARVIN Lee is confident a win by University of Santo Tomas is within sight following its loss to Ateneo on Wednesday.

Lee and the rest of the Growling Tigers played perhaps their most competitive game since their one-point loss to University of the Philippines on their opening game in UAAP Season 80.

Lee led UST's comeback before it fell short as the former Far Eastern University high school standout had 22 points in the Tigers' 94-84 loss to unbeaten Ateneo.

"Tingin ko ganun," said Lee, when asked if he feels the Tigers are close to getting that elusive win, "kasi mas nag-iimprove na kami. Tiwala lang."

"Nandoon na. Siguro more on polish na lang. Siguro next game, unti unti lang," said the 19-year-old Lee.

In his performance on Wednesday, Lee atoned for his poor play in the past two games when he only averaged 3.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

Lee said he was disappointed that he was unable to finish the game due to cramps.

"Nag-cramps na. Hindi ko na kaya. Gusto ko pang bumalik pero sabi ni coach, wag na," said Lee.

The 5-foot-8 Lee said he is seeing a different UST team in the past few games especially after the Tigers committed 41 turnovers against Adamson last September 16.

"Siguro nale-lessen na namin 'yung turnovers. Last two games, 20 plus. At 'yung ball sharing," said Lee.
