Apr 23, 2015

FOUR recent high-school graduates are now in the University of Santo Tomas pool, vying for spots in the Tigers’ UAAP team for Season 78.

Marvin Lee of Far Eastern University-Diliman, Jasper Magno of San Sebastian, and San Beda’s Evan Foraque and Norrish Decapia of San Beda have joined the Tigers, according to coach Bong de la Cruz.

“Nasa pool na sila para sa Team A,” said De la Cruz, who has tapped the four young players for the Filoil preseason tournament.

“Kailangan din ng mga bata ’yung exposure sa Filoil,” the second-year UST coach added.

Lee led the Baby Tamaraws last season in scoring and three-point conversions with 11.5 points per game and 22 made triples respectively, while Magno was the second leading scorer for the Staglets last year, averaging 15.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and 1.4 assists per contest.

Furaque (11.9 points, six rebounds) and Decapia (6.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists) were part of the Red Cubs squad that won six straight titles in the NCAA.
