DETAILS remain unclear on what led to the break between University of Santo Tomas coach Aldin Ayo and ex-team captain CJ Cansino.
On Sunday night, the beleaguered coach touched on the issue but spoke vaguely, saying "marked differences between my orientation in life and the fundamental option of our player CJ Cansino."
Breaking his silence, the former Letran and La Salle coach released a lengthy statement which touched on the Tigers' Bicol bubble training in his hometown of Capuy, Sorsogon as well as the controversial ouster of Cansino.
Though he refused to elaborate on the matter, Ayo said that it's for the benefit of both parties to split following their apparent irreconcilable disagreements.
"We have found that it would be best that we part ways and allow maximum growth for each other," he said.

Cansino, who was once touted as the future of the Growling Tigers, suddenly found himself out of the team as news of UST's supposed Bicol bubble came to light.
The 20-year-old, who after his UAAP Season 80 Juniors MVP campaign with the Tiger Cubs shunned offers from rival schools to stay in España, spent two years with the Tigers and worked his way back from a devastating left ACL tear in 2018.
The 6-foot-2 Cansino was given the reins to be the team captain last UAAP Season 82, where he posted averages of 5.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in UST's bridesmaid finish last year.
He has since moved on and committed to University of the Philippines.
Ayo nonetheless wished the best for his former ward, saying: "We wish him the Best of Providence in his new endeavor with a different team. We express our gratitude for the years and effort he poured so generously for UST."
