MARK Nonoy and Deo Cuajao are headed to La Salle, SPIN.ph learned, as the exodus of players from University of Santo Tomas continues.
A source told SPIN.ph that the La Salle camp is set to reveal its acquisition of the two cagers soon.
Nonoy and Cuajao will also be going to Davao to meet with La Salle backers led by Mans Carpio for a courtesy call, a source also revealed.
Nonoy made a big impression in the UAAP as the Tigers' starting point guard, taking Rookie of the Year honors.
Cuajao, meanwhile, also showed a lot of promise in his campaign with the Growling Tigers.
There had been talk earlier about a possible transfer for the two players, after a photo of the two with Adamson coach Franz Pumaren surfaced last week.
Now they're headed to La Salle, which, ironically, is coached by Pumaren's older brother Derrick.
The two are just the latest players reported to be on their way out of UST after a bubble training in Sorsogon at the height of the pandemic put the team in hot water.
CJ Cansino has since left UST for UP, while Rhenz Abando, Brent Paraiso and Ira Bataller have joined NCAA team Letran.
Aldin Ayo has resigned from the position as UST coach, and was banned indefinitely by the UAAP, a sanction that he has appealed.
