MARK Dyke confirmed in a Twitter post that he is longer part of La Salle, saying he has decided to move to another team to be able to 'reach my maximum potential as a basketball player.'

Dyke, a former National University standout in high school, said playing for La Salle was a dream come true but added he had to make a decision to transfer to another school.

Dyke didn't mention what school he is moving to but he has been attending practices of Far Eastern University, according to athletic director Mark Molina.

"It was always a dream to play and study in DLSU but I think it is not meant for me to stay any longer," Dyke wrote. "My academics was never the issue why I left La Salle. The real reason why I departed from the school is for me to reach my full potential as an athlete."

Dyke said he would have wanted to stay with La Salle for his entire college career.

"Been two years since I joined La Salle and I thought this was gonna be the team till my college career ends but I didn't have the chance to show what I can do and to boost my confidence," said Dyke.

The former National University high school standout admitted he nearly gave up on his basketball career during his time with La Salle.

"I almost gave up and I even thought if I would still continue my basketball dream or just focus on my studies because, honestly, I lost my confidence in playing. But eventually, I started working again to get my confidence back and hopefully, the next path I'll take would work better," said Dyke.

Dyke said he is grateful to La Salle for giving him the opportunity to live his dream.

"My ride with the Green Archers was very overwhelming. I was truly blessed to be part of the team and I am really thankful for the opportunity they have given me, especially to the bosses, my teammates, and to the La Sallian community," said Dyke.
