Coach Juno Sauler denies former NU juniors star Mark Dyke joining Green Archers

Former NU Bullpup Mark Dyke was recently seen attending La Salle's practice, triggering speculation that he is set to complete a move to the Green Archers camp.

MARK Dyke was spotted at a recent De La Salle practice, sparking speculation that the former National University juniors standout is finally committed to joining the Green Archers.

Sources told Spin.ph that Dyke returned to attend one of the practices of the Green Archers, weeks after he reportedly had a change of heart and returned to NU.

La Salle coach Juno Sauler, however, was quick to shoot down talk that Dyke is joining the Green Archers.

“No, not true,” said Sauler in a text message to Spin.ph.

Dyke helped the NU Bullpups win the juniors championship in Season 76 of the UAAP. But after leading the Bullpups to another finals appearance last season, reports came out that Dyke was bound for La Salle.

Recently though, Dyke appeared to have made a U-turn as he started practicing with NU's senior team.

Reports of sightings of Dyke in Green Archers practices coincided with news that the Student-Athletes Protection Bill has been passed by both houses of Congress and is set to become a law.

The bill, among other things, outlaws the UAAP rule that requires high school graduates moving to a different member school in college to undergo two years of residency.

Under the new law, Dyke can immediately play for the Green Archers this season if he decides to make the switch.
