SEAN Manganti went berserk in the second half as Adamson continued to throw its weight around in the UAAP Season 81 by blowing past University of the East, 90-76, on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Used sparingly in the first half, Manganti unleashed his full arsenal in the second half where he scored 22 of his career-best 27 points to lead the Falcons to their second win in as many games.

Jerrick Ahanmisi sparked a 17-0 attack late in the second quarter that turned a 25-28 deficit into a 42-25 lead before Manganti took over in the second half.

Franz Pumaren, however, was far from happy.

“Nothing against UE, but we made it a very difficult game on our part. Some of the guys coming into this game, the mentality was UE just gonna roll over and give the ball to us. But it’s different,” said the Adamson coach.

“Here in the UAAP, the last game doesn’t count, the record doesn’t count, every given day, any team can do well,” he added.

Ahanmisi finished with 17 points anchored on three treys while Papi Sarr came up with a monster double-double of 15 points and 21 rebounds for the Falcons, who are off to their best start to a season in 15 years.

Not even another scoring explosion from Alvin Pasaol could keep the Red Warriors from falling to 0-2 under rookie coach Joe Silva.

Pasaol finished with 36 points and 11 rebounds but the burly forward did most of the heavy lifting, taking 33 of the Warriors’ 66 field-goal attempts and 14 of the 28 shots the team made.

Jason Strait was the only other UE player to breach double digits as he finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.

    The scores:

    ADAMSON 90 - Manganti 27, Ahanmisi 17, Sarr 15, Camacho 8, Espeleta 8, Lastimosa 5, Colonia 4, Bernardo 2, Catapusan 2, Mojica 2, V. Magbuhos 0, Zaldivar 0.

    UE 76 - Pasaol 36, Strait 10, Bartolome 7, Beltran 7, Varilla 7, Cullar 6, Manalang 3, Acuno 0, Antiporda 0, Conner 0, Gagate 0, Sobrevega 0.

    Quarters: 23-18, 42-32, 67-52, 90-76.
