MALICK Diouf says he is proud of University of the Philippines' performance in Season 85 even as the Maroons were dethroned less than a year after claiming the title.
"Honestly, I feel sad," Diouf said after UP's 75-68 Game Three defeat to Ateneo on Monday. The Season MVP came up with seven points, 19 rebounds, and four blocks.

The Senegalese center said he is proud as UP nearly got out of a 20-point hole.
"I feel really sad, but that's life. We played and we fought until the end, but God has other plans so we just have to live like that and bounce back," he said, with UP climbing from a 52-32 hole to get to 70-67, in the last 20.1 seconds.
Diouf believes there are bigger things ahead for UP.
"We still have a lot of recruits. I think we can expect a lot come Season 86," said the Senegalese big man who's just hungry to get back at Ateneo.
"We have to get our revenge," he said with a smile.
