WHILE the climax of the UAAP basketball tournaments unfolds at the Araneta Coliseum and MoA Arena, each team’s journey begins in their very own training facilities back on campus.

These gyms hold the beginnings—from nerve-wracking tryouts to first days on the roster.

They witness progress, personal growth, and often remain open for homecomings long after players move to the next stage.

Some of these courts have stood for decades, quietly shaping generations of athletes. Others have evolved, upgraded, or been reimagined through the years.

From the hustle of the U-Belt, to Taft’s heart, to Quezon City’s expanse, here are the training facilities where UAAP men’s basketball teams brew their magic:

Adamson University – St. Vincent Gym

The Soaring Falcons’ nest is old but intimate, with natural light streaming in and artificial lighting adding brightness. A cozy home court where Adamson athletes sharpen their game.

Ateneo de Manila University – Moro Lorenzo Gym

Ateneo, UAAP


This season’s early dark horse, the Blue Eagles, train in a cool, bright space that also houses a weight room. The facility is shared with pro squad TNT Tropang Giga and Ateneo’s volleyball team. A larger Blue Eagle Gym—an iconic project in Katipunan—is also on the way.

De La Salle University – Enrique M. Razon Sports Center

Named after a key figure in La Salle’s sports program, this historic facility is central to the Green Archers’ grind. Decent in size and complete with its own weight room, it has been a staple training hub for years.

Far Eastern University – Diliman Sports Complex

Tucked away in FEU’s Diliman campus, this facility has an old but serviceable court and a 150-seater AVR. Think of it as a barangay-style covered court—functional, intimate, and built for hard work.

National University – Nazareth School HSH Gym

Air-conditioned and well-maintained, NU’s home court features a loft with a mini indoor track. It’s where the Bulldogs quietly prepare, blending modernity with grit.

University of the East – Lucio K. Tan Gymnasium

Perched on the fifth floor, this gym bathes in natural light, creating a calm, intimate training atmosphere. The Red Warriors’ home is simple but effective for daily grind sessions.

University of the Philippines – UP Varsity Training Center

Among the newest in the UAAP, UP’s facility boasts a polished court on the second floor, complemented by a weights area and conference rooms. Well-maintained and modern, it reflects the Fighting Maroons’ rise.

University of Santo Tomas – Quadricentennial Pavilion

No stranger to actual UAAP games, UST’s iconic “Quadricentennial Pavilion” can seat more than 5,000. Inside, it houses classrooms, fitness areas, and training spaces for multiple sports—making it one of the league’s most complete facilities.
