AT a time when teams and fans alike are decrying the so-called 'poaching' of some of their top players both in the high school and college, it seems like the University of Perpetual Help is taking a different route altogether.
In a photo released by the school to the media on Monday, Perpetual vice-president for sports Anton Tamayo 'turned over' Junior Altas star and NCAA Season 100 juniors MVP Lebron Jhames Daep to La Salle and coach Topex Robinson.

On the surface, it looks harmless, if not refreshing, to see a prominent school authority be supportive of their former player, allowing him to spread his wings elsewhere if it means bigger opportunities, something LeBron will surely get with La Salle.
It's just a bit odd, surely, considering that Perpetual has an on-the-rise seniors program under second-year coach Olsen Racela who surely could've used a 6-foot-7 big in their quest for a first-ever NCAA seniors title.
Now we wonder what coach Olsen must be feeling, considering that the biggest and most promising star which stepped foot on a Perpetual hard court since a guy named Scottie Thompson was hand-delivered to another seniors program.

Daep made his official debut in La Salle's main team as a starter, playing 15 minutes in La Salle's 65-47 win over Adamson in the PlayTime Cares Filoil Ecooil Preseason Cup.
The prized rookie finished with four points and three rebounds as he slowly eases himself into the La Salle system.
