LETRAN high school cager Ivan Villanueva will join Adamson in college, hoping to make the Falcons line-up for the next UAAP season.
Adamson team manager Gilbert Cruz confirmed the commitment of Villanueva, whose father is also a graduate of the San Marcelino-based school.
A former Mythical Five member in the NCAA in 2011, the burly six-foot Villanueva averaged 12.8 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Squires in Season 89. The undersized center and forward also saw action in a recent Seaoil NBTC All-Star Game where he played with the best high school players in the country.
“He might not have the height but he has the body,” said Cruz. “Pero to say that he is in the team already, it is still premature at this point.”
Matthew Aquino, son of former Ginebra star Marlou Aquino, has also also joined the Adamson roster and is vying for a slot in the school's UAAP line-up.
The elder Aquino is part of the coaching staff of head mentor Kenneth Duremdes.
