NO more dry days for University of the East, as the Lady Warriors finally put an end to their 40-game losing skid with a 65-47 stunner over La Salle Sunday in the UAAP Season 87 women’s basketball tournament at Mall of Asia Arena.
“Nanalo rin kami. Yun ang masarap kasi bago lahat ng mga players ko. Itong game na ito para sa mga players ko ito, sila ang tumrabaho at gumawa ng sakripisyo,” said coach Ai Lebornio.

It was UE’s first victory since topping University of the Philippines, 68-66, back in UAAP Season 82 in 2019.
Jearzy Ganade led the way for the Recto dribblers with her 15 points, six rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block, while Rachel Lacayanga got a double-double of 13 points and 10 boards.
For Lebornio, this victory is a step in the right direction as UE looks to bring back its glory days since she first handled the team back in 2015.
“Yun lang ang goal namin, yung winning na kultura ng UE, maibalik namin,” she said as UE ended a three-game skid to start the campaign.
Luisa San Juan led La Salle with 14 points and five rebounds to drop to 0-4.
UP fights back into win column
