FORMER Ateneo star LA Tenorio said he expects a young Blue Eagles side to come out better after the experience gained in a Game One loss to La Salle in the UAAP Season 79 finals.

Tenorio, a member of the Ateneo champion team in 2002, watched from the MOA stands as the Blue Eagles faded in the final seconds to yield a 65-67 loss in Game One of the best-of-three series.

The Ginebra star lamented some costly turnovers down the stretch and Ateneo's inability to keep the Green Archers off the boards - something he chalked down to lack of experience.

"I think they have to focus on rebounding and and lessen their turnovers so I think 'yun ang importante to get the win kasi sayang (kanina) madaming lapses and turnovers down the stretch," he said.

"(Workout nila) ang ability to execute down the stretch siguro 'yun lang ang kailangan," the former Gilas Pilipinas mainstay added.

Tenorio, however, expects the Blue Eagles to come out better in the must-win Game Two on Wednesday, now that they have experienced how it is to play in the grandest stage of college basketball.

"That's a learning experience para sa mga bata, kasi kulang pa talaga sa experience, pero they did well," Tenorio said. "May next game pa naman."
