LA Salle clinched the No. 2 seed in Group A with an 84-70 drubbing of San Sebastian on Friday in the 2019 Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup.
Justine Baltazar compiled 18 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks to help the Green Archers finish the eliminations at 5-2 (win-loss) and set up a quarterfinal clash against Group B No. 3 Letran on Monday.
Aljun Melecio also shot 4-of-10 from beyond the arc to fire 15 points and five boards for La Salle. Ralph Cu added nine points and 12 rebounds, while Encho Serrano got eight in the win.
La Salle used a 26-point third quarter onslaught to turn a slim 38-36 halftime lead into a 64-52 spread at the end of the third period.
San Sebastian's third loss in seven games dropped the Stags to No. 3 in the group, setting it up to a playoff date against Group B second seed Adamson.
RK Ilagan went 4-of-10 from deep to carry the Golden Stags with 18 points.
Ken Villapando and Arjan Dela Cruz both had 10 in the defeat.
