ANDREI Caracut missed Sunday’s game against University of Santo Tomas, but La Salle coach Juno Sauler is confident the rookie will be ready for the team’s match against University of the East in Season 78 of the UAAP men’s basketball tournament.
Sauler said Caracut has not been feeling well, although the La Salle champion coach didn’t elaborate further.
“He wasn’t feeling well the whole week but he’ll be ready on Wednesday,” said the soft-spoken mentor.
The La Salle-UE tussle is set at 2 p.m. at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Sauler admitted the team missed Caracut’s offensive contribution as he serves as a scoring option for the Green Archers, who lost an 11-point lead to drop a 81-79 decision to UST.
His absence also forced Sauler to go deeper to the Green Archers’ bench.
“They made tough shots and we couldn’t score the three,” he said.
“Malaking bagay din. We played Renzo (Navarro) and (Andrew) Langston a little longer in the first half. We missed him definitely,” added Sauler.
