La Salle Green Archers fight for life as UP Maroons look to secure No. 2 spot

    Oct 27, 2019

LA Salle fights for its life when it takes on University of the Philippines Sunday in the UAAP Season 82 men's basketball tournament at Ynares Center in Antipolo.

It's gut-check time for the Green Archers as at 6-6, they could not afford to lose their remaining games, and focus will be on Justine Baltazar, Aljun Melecio and Jamie Malonzo in the 4 p.m. game.

Yet the task isn't that easy too, with the Fighting Maroons also having their own set of motivations for the clash.

A victory for the 8-4 UP would assure the Diliman crew its best finish in the Final Four era as it will lock up the No. 2 spot in the semis.

Bright Akhuetie, Kobe Paras and the resurgent Juan Gomez de Liano look to score a more comfortable win after a 72-71 thriller of a victory over the Green Archers back in September 25.

Far Eastern University is also looking to take a step closer to the semifinals when it tackles also-ran University of the East at 2 p.m.
