LA Salle officially confirmed Aldin Ayo’s departure as head coach of the Green Archers in announcing the appointment of Jose Luis 'Louie' Gonzalez III as the team’s new mentor.
In an official statement, La Salle's Office of Sports Development announced that Gonzalez has officially taken over as head coach of the Green Archers effective January 1, 2018 replacing Ayo.
La Salle also expressed its gratitude to Ayo for his two seasons with the Green Archers in which the team reached the finals both times and won the UAAP title in Season 79.
"DLSU extends its deep appreciation to former head coach Aldin Ayo for his two years of dedicated service to the team," said the La Salle OSD in the statement also posted on the DLSU Sports Twitter account.

Under Ayo, La Salle had a 30-5 win-loss record including a UAAP title with the Green Archers in his first season with the team in 2016.
Ayo, sources said, is heading to University of Santo Tomas with an official announcement expected to be made anytime soon after La Salle made its official statement on the head coaching position.
Taking over the team is Gonzalez, who was an assistant coach with college teams Letran and Far Eastern University, and GlobalPort and KIA in the PBA.
Gonzalez was also the lead deputy of Ayo during his two seasons with La Salle and was also Ayo’s deputy at Letran when the Knights won the NCAA crown in 2015.
Gonzalez will reportedly have Glenn Capacio and Siot Tanquincen as two of his assistants with the Green Archers.
