La Salle big man Mason Amos faces long layoff with MCL tear

MASON Amos has suffered an MCL tear on his right knee and will be out for a couple of weeks.

La Salle coach Topex Robinson shared the development to SPIN.ph on Monday morning based on the results of an MRI done on the knee of his forward.

It's a tough blow for the Green Archers who are in the midst of a two-game losing skid in the UAAP Seaaon 88 men's basketball tournament to slide to a 2-3 record.

Amos, according to Robinson, headed something pop after National U's Gelo Santiago inadvertently landed on his knee at the 7:03 mark of the fourth quarter.

    The Green Archers would go on and lose that game, 82-78.

    Amos, in his first season at La Salle after transfering from Ateneo, is averaging 8.2 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.8 rebounds through five games this season.
