KYMANI Ladi's priority remains playing for Ateneo this upcoming UAAP Season 88.
Team manager Epok Quimpo bared that to Spin.ph, allaying fears that the Fil-Am forward will face the same situation as Dwight Ramos before.
"Hindi na siya tumuloy doon sa workout," the executive shared.
Ladi got an invite to workout with an undisclosed NBA team and was supposed to train from July 11 to 14 but begged off from partaking to avoid complications for his one-and-done year with the Blue Eagles.
"Wrong timing din kasi kasabay siya ng training camp ng Ateneo and they didn't want to have any issues when it comes to his eligibility this coming UAAP season," shared Quimpo.
Despite the decision to skip, Ladi can still workout with NBA teams after the season as he has handlers back in the United States setting those invites.

It's a positive development in Katipunan as the Blue Eagles are coming in with high hopes for the 6-foot-8 forward who last played for Merritt College in California and averaged 15.0 points on 41-percent clip from deep, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.
Quimpo shared that Ladi has been in Ateneo's crosshairs for the longest time and was supposed to fly to Manila before the pandemic hit and derailed those plans.
Years later, that partnership is finally a go.
The development also assures Ateneo that Ladi will get a chance to play for the blue-and-white unlike Ramos who committed to the Blue Eagles but never got to play because of the global crisis and ultimately opted to turn pro in Japan in 2021.
