KIEFER Ravena was quick to play down the sprained left ankle he suffered on Wednesday in a game against University of Santo Tomas, saying it is nothing serious.
Ravena needed to retreat to the bench and looked in great pain late in the game after twisting his ankle as he went for a rebound play under the UST basket.
The reigning league MVP eventually returned to finish the game for Ateneo but was noticeably limping as he headed back to the dugout after the Blue Eagles' 80-74 win over the Tigers.
Ravena, however, was quick to allay concerns over the injury, saying he expects to play in the team’s next game against National University on Sunday.
“Na-sprain lang. Natapakan ko ‘yung paa ng teammate ko. Nothing really serious. Try to get it treated tomorrow or even later,” said Ravena.
When asked to rate the pain on the scale of 10, Ravena said: “Pain is like 4 to 5. Ngayon pa lang nangyayari so medyo fresh pa.”
Ravena doesn't expect to miss the game against the Bulldogs.
“Mahirap kalaban ‘yung ganun. Parang do-or-die ‘yung sa NU para sa kanila so we can’t really relax,” said Ravena.
