KIEFER Ravena had an awkward fall during a recent Ateneo tune-up game against San Beda, but his younger brother Thirdy assured that the reigning UAAP MVP didn’t suffer any major injury.
Information reaching Spin.ph said Ravena had a hard fall during a tune-up game at the San Beda Gym last Friday and appeared to have hurt either his right knee or right ankle.
But Thirdy assured that his brother Kiefer is okay and has not sustained any injury.
Still, the scare was enough for Kiefer to miss the Nike Rise Legacy Night All-Star Game last Saturday that pitted current collegiate stars against current and former PBA players which Thirday attended.
“Nagpapahinga lang siya kasi malapit na ‘yung season,” Thirdy told Spin.ph on Saturday when asked why Kiefer didn’t play.
It will be remembered that Ravena suffered an ankle injury, reportedly during a commercial shoot, prior to the 2013 season and never really got going for the Blue Eagles, who saw their run of championships come to an end.
Apparently, Kiefer is not taking chances this time.
“Okay naman siya. Nagpapahinga lang siya. Kasi ayaw na niya ‘yung nangyari before,” said Thirdy, who will be ineligible to play for the Blue Eagles this season owing to academic problems.
Kiefer is expected to lead the charge for Ateneo this season in his final year with the Blue Eagles before he turns pro.
UAAP Season 78 will open on September 5 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum but the Blue Eagles will open their campaign the following day against Far Eastern University.
