IF Ateneo star Kiefer Ravena looked a bit unkempt these days, blame it on a little superstition.
Ravena has purposely refused to shave or get a haircut since the Blue Eagles went on a roll last month, believing that it brings the team luck in the final season of his UAAP career.
The King Eagle admitted he has not shaved or gone to his barber since the team's 80-74 win over University of Santo Tomas last October 21, and plans not to do so long as the Blue Eagles keep on winning.
Well, Ateneo's win streak has reached five games after a 73-62 win over rival La Salle on Sunday - the reason the reigning league MVP has grown a mustache and now sports unsually long hair.
“Nung unang panalo namin against UST,” said Ravena, when asked when he started to grow his hair long and kept a mustache.
Ravena declined to talk much about his little superstition, wary that it would stop the streak of good fortune.
“’Wag nating batiin,” said Ravena smiling.
Ravena looks disheveled and admitted he is starting to become uncomfortable with his long hair - “Ako nga ‘yung naiinitan,” he says - but doesn't mind, so long as the Blue Eagles keep on winning.
“Kahit pangit ako, nananalo kami, wala akong pakialam,” said Ravena.
