KIEFER Ravena shares the same disappointment of younger brother Thirdy Ravena’s failure to suit up for Ateneo in the coming UAAP season.
The younger Ravena will have to sit out his second year in the league due to academic deficiencies on a season his elder brother will be playing his last year with the Katipunan-based school.
“Syempre malungkot sino ba naman ang matutuwa ng ganoon ‘di ba?” Kiefer told Spin.ph after the final practice of Gilas Pilipinas cadets before they leave for Singapore for the 28th Southeast Asian Games.
The training could have been the last time the sons of former basketball star Bong and former volleyball player Mozzy will play together in college.
“Sayang it’s an opportunity lost for us to play together,” said Kiefer. “Nag-iisip na nga ako kung maglalaro pa ako. Joke lang.”
Kiefer, the reigning UAAP Most Valuable Player, savored the last practice he had with Thirdy, who’s part of the Gilas cadet reserve pool but will not be part of the SEA Games national team under coach Tab Baldwin.
“Pero ganoon talaga. We still have a mission of winning a championship together I hope we could do that,” said Kiefer.
“Magkasama naman kami sa bahay lang pero iba pa rin pag nasa court,” added Thirdy.
